I was checking out pictures in my SD Card when I saw this:

Bloggers’ Spinning Class: Dulce, Chattee, Lyle, Moi (in blue), and Drew
I almost forgot that last August 28, I joined my first spinning class at the Holiday Fitness Spa and Fitness Center. I honestly didn’t want to take part in it since I have an idea how physically tiring power cycling can be (I watched Simon Pegg’s Run, Fatboy, Run) but my friends wanted to try it so I joined them anyway.
Spinning is so tiring that even if my friends and I arrived 20 minutes late for the class, I was out of breath within 5 minutes of cycling. I’m such a wimp when it comes to fitness and exercise (I’ve had exercise-induced fainting spells before) that even if the speakers blared high-intensity exercise music, I cycled leisurely and mentally hummed “What a Wonderful World”.
When the spinning class was over, I was so weak that I nearly fell when I got off the exercise bike. I was sweating like crazy that I’m thankful I applied an extra coating of anti-perspirant that day. I also ached all over, not to mention that I felt like somebody shoved a fist-sized rock up my ass.
If that spinning class was memorable because it gave me body pains that lasted for more than a week, I believe it was more memorable for Lyle. A few hours after our spinning class, he had muscle weakness in his legs. At first, we thought it was funny that he couldn’t walk properly but it came to a point when he was paralyzed from the waist down that we had to bring him to the ER. Apparently, he was so dehydrated that his blood potassium levels took a nosedive, hence the temporary paralysis. Below is a pic of Lyle in the ER.

Although it burns a lot of calories (around 450 per 45 minutes), I’m going to think it over a hundred times (a thousand, even) before I try spinning again. And since it’s not in my list of priorities in the next 5 years, I made sure I had my pic taken after the session. Lolssss.

Sweaty, aching all over, and close to fainting

uuyyy! si kuya drew yun ah! hehehe
Don’t we have photos of Kuya Drew’s back maskels? Hulolz!
