For 2010, I will refrain from having red meat. Yes, this self-imposed no red meat policy will be for the whole year. Meaning, I won’t be having McDonald’s cheeseburger, Jollibee’s burger steak, shrimp and pork dumplings, and pork ribs for a whole year. Fat chance, huh? Well, good luck to me.
Last year, I decided not to consume even a single drop of alcohol and I succeeded. I also wanted to abstain from drinking cola but the resolve only lasted for 8 months. Still, for somebody who’s been a heavy Coke-drinker for more than 15 years, 8 months is something.
At lunch yesterday, my willpower was put to test. I attended a family gathering where lechon (roast pig) and smoked ham were included in the buffet spread. My relatives were cajoling me into having some but I politely said no and munched on cupcakes instead. You have no idea how close I was to losing control. The roast pig and smoked ham both looked succulent that at one point I had to distract my growling stomach by making myself a cup of coffee.
I know that sticking to this no red meat policy will be tough but I really want to do it. I’ve had more than my fair share of red meat last year so 12 months of not having any certainly won’t kill me.

hmmm… that’s great! new years resolution..
How about you, Faust? What’s your fitness regimen for 2010? Lol.
I’m struggling getting rid of the smoke and drinking thing.. duh..
No more cheeseburger from Harley’s too?
Anyway, corporate plan at Holiday is at less than 2000 for 3 months. Are you in?
No more cheeseburger from Harley’s. Anyway, for the corporate plans, will they be needing any requirements?
ang hirap naman nyan…baka naman pwede konti lang ,,hangyo hehe…
It can be done. We don’t eat red meat at home anyway so I think I’ll have to adjust a little.

I can still have Harley’s fried chicken wings.
maybe you can also make a personalized request like “can i have a chicken burger?” something like that.

Nah, it won’t hurt if I don’t have any this year. I’ve had my fill of burgers last year, anyway.
Nice! You’ll be healthier and richer.
