I have been using the Lose It! application for the iPhone/iPod Touch for a couple of months now and I say it is a very useful weight loss tool as it allows me to set my weight loss goals and help me carry out any weight loss plan efficiently.
I am currently using Lose It! version 1.2, so I can now modify my program by simply editing my profile (this is very useful for those who encounter dieting setbacks). It also comes with a passcode lock, just perfect for those who don’t really want other people to know how overweight they really are.
What I love best about Lose It! is that more than it allows me to keep track of my dietary intake and activities through a comprehensive and yet easy-to-use daily food and exercise log, it provides valuable information on different kinds of food and exercises. For example, if I do a search on a cup of sliced fresh cucumber, Lose It! will generate nutritional information as shown below.

Yes, cucumbers are not just for removing under-eye circles…
Supposing I have finally decided to exercise and would want to know how much calories I’ll burn by cleaning the house, I’ll simply browse the exercises, tap on house cleaning, indicate the number of minutes I plan to spend doing the activity, and Lose It! will generate the following result:

How I wish I can do this for 3 hours…:-)
Of course, a weight loss application or tool is never without limitations. The information provided by Lose It! is more like an approximation based on the user’s food intake and activities. However, I still find it valuable because although the calorie counting is not 100% accurate, it still gives me an idea as to whether I am under or terribly over my caloric allowance for the day.

Now you know that I always exceed my daily calorie budget…:p
