I can have my cake and eat it, too!

I’m home alone so I decided to have another weigh-in. I was quite nervous as I have been raiding the bread and cake buffet at EuroCafe for the past two weeks.  And oh, I also had a tall glass of chocolate parfait yesterday.

My last weigh-in was 20 days ago and I weighed 128 pounds.  Now, after eating slice after slice of blueberry and cherry cheesecake and chocolate marble cake, I still weigh 128 lbs.  Unbelievable!

I think the reason why I didn’t gain weight despite being a frequent customer at EuroCafe’s cake buffet is that since I wake up really late, I don’t get to eat three square meals a day.  There are times when a mid-afternoon slice of blueberry cheesecake, which approximately has 370 calories, is my first meal followed by  dinner and loads of coffee.

When I’m at home, I always try to snack on something healthy.  Gone are the days when I would finish a large bowl of spicy instant noodles with a healthy serving (read as: 2 cups) of brown rice.  When I get really hungry after hours of surfing the internet, I try to make smart choices.  Check out the evidence here and here. I’m quite happy that even though I am a long way from that 30-pound weight loss, I dropped a couple of sizes.  I bought a pair of size 29 jeans and although you may still consider this  huge or B-I-G , I was a size 31-32 for chrissake so humour me. LOL.

Also, I have been receiving comments from relatives to the tune of, “you’ve lost weight” or “did you lose weight?” so I guess the weight loss is noticeable. My relatives are the most observant  when it comes to my weight so I guess I can be a little smug about it. :-)
