Tuna Tocino: My kind of dupe…
I joined one or two badminton sessions since February 17, 2009. Very bad, really. I was out of town on two occasions and something came up recently that even if I really want to, I just don’t have the time for a badminton game. Not even for a 30-minute cardio exercise with Shaun T.
I am still on a no beef, no pork diet so I try my hardest to stick to it. Lyle had burger steak yesterday, which I really, really like. I wanted to have a teeniest-tiniest bit of the burger steak but I remembered that I can’t so I had to look the other way. Literally.
So I’m sticking to my no pork, no beef resolve. And I guess it is a good thing that my brother-in-law, Michael, gave us RDEX shrimp and tuna products.
Yesterday I tried the RDEX tuna tocino (sweetened cured tuna) and I loved it. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. And if not for the texture, I would mistake it for chicken tocino. The tuna tocino will surely go well with fried rice so I was lucky I didn’t have rice on my table that time.
I let one of the girls at home do the cooking for me but judging from what’s written in the package directions, it is very easy to prepare. A 227 g package is good for 4 servings. A serving will give you approximately 116 calories.
The RDEX tuna tocino was also a big hit among my niece and nephews aged 6-13. I did the taste-test with them and I think the youngest looked at me disapprovingly when I beat him to the last slice of the tuna tocino.
RDEX has tuna shops at Gaisano City Mall along Ilustre Street and at the Chimes Felcris Specialty Store. You can also call them at 222-4807 or 222-5814.

hhhmmm…. sounds like a healthy alternative to red meat eh..
There is an RDEX outlet at Gaisano City Mall. Try the tuna tocino as soon as you’re back from your grand vacation.
